D.Y.Patil Engineering Granted Empowered Autonomous Institute Status by Shivaji University

D. Y. Patil College of Engineering & Technology, Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur, has been granted the prestigious Empowered Autonomous Institute status by Shivaji University, Kolhapur, marking another significant milestone in the institution’s journey of academic excellence.

The recognition has been conferred in appreciation of the college’s outstanding contribution to higher education through quality teaching, skill development, research, innovation, industry collaboration, student-centric initiatives, and effective academic governance. The new status further strengthens the institution’s commitment to delivering world-class technical education and fostering academic excellence.

With the Empowered Autonomous status, the institution will have greater flexibility in designing industry-relevant curricula, introducing emerging technologies, strengthening research and innovation, implementing modern teaching-learning practices, and enhancing student-centric academic initiatives. The recognition will also enable the college to respond more effectively to evolving industry requirements while maintaining high academic standards.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Dr. Sanjay D. Patil described the achievement as a recognition of the institution’s continuous pursuit of excellence over the years. He stated that the new status would further strengthen the college’s efforts to provide quality education, innovation-driven learning, and holistic development opportunities for students.
